Welcome to the one and only Phat Daily Column. Today, we'll be serving up some Daily Apples, since there's nothing else to do on a Thursday! Believe me, Thursdays are the hardest days to do a column. It used to be so easy with Chunder to review or laugh at, but ever since then, it's nothing but a struggle. That's why I take Thursdays off more than any other day.

As I went through a couple of video stores, yesterday, to see what was new (and to find and rent Mario Golf), I noticed that no video store had any of the newer WWF videos to rent. With the very loyal wrestling following around this area, that's very odd to have none of the rental places having WWF videos. I just guess it goes to show you that the providers just don't see that much demand in wrestling as a whole.

Anyway, on to the PDC.

-I'll tell you what, I'm loving the idea of the WWF defending the WCW at houseshows. A show in Washington will feature Booker T vs. Buff Bagwell for the WCW World Title and Chavo Guerrero vs. Shane Helms for the Cruiserweight title. It's a damn good way to boost attendance for houseshows, because having matches like Kane vs. Big Show in the cage as a main event certainly won't tickets. The WWF should throw a lot of WCW talent on their houseshow circuit, since many need to adjust to the longer rings and the higher and more flexible ropes. Lots of dark matches, before television tapings, wouldn't hurt too.

-I just LOVE seeing the WWF and Jerry Lawler totally deny about a possible comeback for the King in the WWF. Despite many of the better sources swearing up and down that Jerry has agreed to return, Lawler and the WWF just won't acknowledge it. It's apparent that the WWF wants this to be a total surprise, and that they don't want any of the so-called "smart fans" to discuss how Vince McMahon caved in to the Lawlers. Plus, they want to get a big surprise just like it occurred for Diamond Dallas Page. I'm truly wondering how the regular fan, without the dirt sheets or the internet, has thought about Lawler no longer in the WWF.

Since we're on Lawler..... If Jerry Lawler is coming back because Chyna isn't getting a new contract, I'd be rather shocked. It's like a trade... The Kat/Jerry Lawler for Chyna. The Kat, as many would point out, wasn't very needed on the WWF roster. Then, you have Jerry Lawler, who the WWF "claimed" to be getting to old for their product. It truly shows you Chyna's worth. By the way, Chyna is now accepting independent bookings and roles in B-movies, and she'll be selling her old chin on Ebay.

-I'm sort of skeptical on getting Lita's video. Sure, she's wrestled a couple of big matches, but for the most part, she's just danced around as a valet as the Hardys. Probably the big thing in this video will be her Women's title victory over Stephanie McMahon. I guess the Dean Malenko stuff would be good to put on there, too. Maybe some of the Matt Hardy romance, although the WWF doesn't do too much with that anymore. I suppose it would show some ECW clips, and how she's improved ever since she arrived in the WWF. I don't know, if it's cheap, I'll probably give it a try, or if it just feels right.

-Smackdown Hype-

Could we see more of a WCW invasion? Apparently so, especially with the nice ratings increase the WWF received on RAW. The WCW invasion equals ratings, and we all know that Smackdown could sure use an increase. I'm sure we'll see some backlash from Booker T attacking the boss of the World Wrestling Federation, Vince McMahon. Maybe another long interview for Vince to make fun of Booker T?

Tonight, we'll see the rematch of Kane vs. PRINCE Albert, which I guess stems from Albert running in and screwing Kane out of winning the Tag Titles. I believe the WWF was kicking themselves from their last performance together, since it was surprisingly good. Can they pull off a second good match? It's hard to polish a turd twice, but we'll see.

Also, we've got the Dudley Boyz vs. the Hardy Boyz in an elimination table match. Although these guys have feuded many times in the past, there is no build up towards a gimmick match of this nature. Oh well, I know it will be a good match, so I could give a rat's ass about the storyline here. I wouldn't doubt that the Dudleys put Lita through a table, which is soooo 2000. If the WWF really wants to push the Dudleys as a heel team, all they have to do is give the microphone to Bubba (or Buh Buh) and let him shoot on the crowd. If only the WWF would just try that!

Are you sitting down? I ask that, because this next match is just PURE EXCITEMENT! We have the team of X-Pac and Billy Gunn, two guys who became very lazy in the later years of Degeneration X, against Edge/Christian. Both X-Pac and Gunn are currently receiving pushes since they enjoy using longevity and ass kissing to get wherever they need, so it makes sense to tag them up again. Together, they will fight against Edge and Christian, two wrestlers who know their potential and have been busting their ass since day one and have actually IMPROVED over the years, unlike Gunn and X-Pac. Why is X-Pac even in this match, anyway? Isn't he a member of X-Factor?

Also in da house: Steve Austin, William Regal, Trish Stratus, Chris Jericho, and Kurt Angle. Last week, I found it very ackward when WWF.com put Perry Saturn in their final list of wrestlers appearing. Don't know why, but I just did.

It should be noted that I know one thing about this show, thanks to some report online spoiling it for me. It's so nice of certain people to include spoilers as a news report, especially without warning. Well, I guess it was a good thing though, because it doesn't make me happy whatsoever. Now I won't reveal it today, for I'm not that kind of person in terms of spoiling shows for my readers. However, I will promise a FINGER OF SHAME tomorrow, and possibly a DOUBLE FINGER OF SHAME. Well, probably a single finger, but ya never know.

To quote J.R. Ewing from the hit show Dallas: "that's not a threat; it's a promise".
