Ah yes, one more predictions column... Welcome back to the Phat WEEKLY Column, the PDC covering Saturday and Sunday, or at least that was the plan. I'll tell you what, no matter how hard I tried lately to produce something on the weekend, it just wasn't there. Monday through Friday just burns me out anyway, and to have a busy weekend along with that...

Let's see here, what ideas did I scrap from the weekend columns? First of all, the histories. Those columns were hard to write, as I spent time looking up data or flipping through the PWI Almanac for title histories, etc. Then, we had "controversial" Sundays, where I'd discuss something in wrestling that was controversial, such as Chastity getting released from WCW because of a porno she was in, etc. That lasted a whole two weeks. What else... I remembered I tried to mess with people's heads with several random topic columns on the weekends, too.

Then, oh yeah, I tried to do Week In Review columns not once, but twice! Although I bragged how easy the format would be for me to do every week, I quickly got bored with the format. And remember those special Pay Per View hype columns? I tried writing histories of each event, but that lasted, oh, maybe 4 months? Writing recaps of the storylines for the Pay Per Views didn't last long, either.

The best weekend column, from my standpoint, was the ECW review column on Saturdays. I was the ECW on TNN recapper for most of its television run, and I did an opinionated recap that sent people up the walls with anger! On some Sundays, I spent a good part of that column explaining what I said, such as pushing Justin Credible to be ECW champion. What was Pay Heyman thinking there at the end?

Ah well. I can remember running through my "column streak" and posting columns on every Saturday and Sunday for over a year. Talk about scraping from the bottom! At least there was 3 federations to talk about, though, as compared to today with just one. God, it's so hard to write a daily column about one federation. It was a nice run attempting to write on the weekends, although really coming up short lately.

I see that X-Pac was released from the WWE. Excuse me for a second....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Ok, sorry if that offended anyone, as I just had to get that out of my system.

On to the PDC.

-Mr. Tito's Phat Summerslam Predictions-

Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero
This is a hard one to predict. Sure, Edge pinned Guerrero on Smackdown, but Edge is also the man the WWE wants to push to the top. I'm torn on this one, but given the Smackdown booking, I'm betting that the WWE wants to extend this feud.
Tito's Pick: Eddie Guerrero

Undertaker vs. Test
Didn't we see this at Wrestlemania 12 with Undertaker vs. Diesel? Ohhhhhhh.... Man, I'm so funny today. If the WWE has any BALLS, they'll give a fluke win to Test here, cleanly, to the surprise of everyone. But hey, over 10 years of tenure can keep you on top when you're over the age of 40.
Tito's Pick: Undertaker

Ric Flair vs. Chris Jericho
It's a shame that Ric Flair still wrestling isn't made a bigger deal than it is. Should be good, but Jericho is the one in need of elevation, I guess.
Tito's Pick: Chris Jericho

Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio
I can't wait to see this match. Should be quite an entertaining one, but Angle will beat this Cruiserweight into submission.
Tito's Pick: Kurt Angle

Booker T/Goldust vs. Lance Storm/Christian
Goldust and Booker T have been ITCHING to become tag team champions for a while now, and the World Title victory, tonight, would be the icing on the cake for these guys. Let's hope it happens.
Tito's Pick: Booker T/Goldust

Chris Benoit vs. Rob Van Dam
I don't see the IC title coming back to RAW. Should be an incredible match!
Tito's Pick: Chris Benoit

Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H
I have to wonder how much HBK can wrestle after seeing the brief preview on Monday. If he can't wrestle fully, can Triple H carry the match and make it watchable? A lot could be riding on Triple H's shoulders if this turns out to be a disaster.
Tito's Pick: Triple H

Rock vs. Brock Lesnar
I still don't believe Brock is ready yet. He needs some more seasoning before wrestling the big time, in my opinion. Rock lasts one more week and lets another heel beat him for the World Title, possibly a Triple H, awarded for making his HBK match look good.
Tito's Pick: Rock

FINAL PHAT DAILY COLUMN: August 30th, 2002. After that, Mr. Tito will produce a newly titled Weekly column on Tuesdays, mostly consisting of the famous RAW review.
